NAGELLACK UND HAARSCHNITT

Gestern hab ich mir einen neuen Nagellack gekauft und die Farbe ist super schönes Orange. Und heute hab ich mir die Haare schneiden lassen. Ich bin einfach hin und hab nen Termin gemacht...dann hab ich gesagt, ich will es kürzer und anders! Und das ist dabei heraus gekommen...

HERBST

als ich gestern morgen mit den Fahhrad zur Arbeit gefahren bin, war der ganze Boden mir einer Eisschickt bedeckt.... der FROST ist da ! Nicht mehr lange, dann wird es schneien und dann ist es dunkel, kalt , und WINTER ! bis es jedoch so weit ist geniesse ich die Sonne und sammle IMPRESSIONEN von der wunderschönen HERBST-LANDSCHAFT...das bedeutet mehr Bilder vom HERBST!!

Leena ( a friend of mine...super cute and such a nice girl) went to Greece for 2 weeks . And before she left she told me that she is afraid to miss the RUSKA . That’s the time when all the trees in Finland change their color and all the green turns into orange, red and yellow. So I promised her to capture the RUSKA for her, just in case all the leaves are on the ground before she returns.

Freunde und Familie

Es ist doch immer wieder schön, wenn Freude uns in unserer kleinen Wohnung besuchen kommen. Man kann zusammen quatschen, auf dem Sofa rumzitzen, Singstar spielen oder (zum Ägrernis der Frauen FIFA-Fussball spielen) Man kann Essen kochen oder einfach nur Snacks essen, und natürlich Sauna. Auch wenn wir keinen See haben, und auf dem Balkon stehen nicht annähernd so witzig ist wie ein kalter See... besser wie nichts ist es allemal. Und immer wieder fühlt man grosse Dankbarkeit darüber, das sich menschen zeit nehmen um einpaar stunden mit jemandem zu verbingen, der einem wichtig ist. Freunde sind toll. Und Familie auch. Letzte Woche war Ailas Namenstag und da das in Finland gefeiert wird, sind wir alle zu ihr gegangen und haben dort gegessen, bilder angeschaut, mit Joona und Leevi gespielt, und einfach nur geredet. Ich vermiss meine Familie in Deutschland und Amerika und freu mich schon auf Weihnachten.

Miris wedding was on the 14th of August and Antti and I flew there 2 days before the big day. We were traveling for over 24h and I don’t even know how long we have been awake.

The day before the wedding was like expected totally stressful. But the wedding itself was just beautiful. I loved the dress so much and my twin sister is just the prettiest girl I have ever seen. During the church I was standing close to Miri and John, sure not to miss anything (because I was the bridesmaid and had the pleasure to walk into the church on the arm of the “Bestman” and people watching me wondering if I am the bride:)
I was standing so close that I could see the hidden tears of bride and groom and I think my tears were seen from all of the 300 guests. It was really touchy. My dad is just a comedian….well I cannot explain that but I needed to mention it :).

After the church there was cake and music and later in the evening food and dance and FUN. I enjoyed so much seeing my family and having fun with them and especially seeing Antti having fun with them. It makes my heart so glad seeing that my husband and my family are becoming ONE family.

During the time in Nebraska we were staying in this beautiful house, my whole family and 5 bathrooms, 4 sleeping rooms, 3 living rooms, one kitchen, one veranda, one trampoline, one laundry room, 2 huge TV`s …and so on. It was amazing!!! Thanks so much to John’s neighbor!!!

On Friday was the wedding, on Saturday we had a huge BBQ at the house and on Sunday Miri, John, Antti and I were flying to Jamaica for our honeymoon. Surprisingly Jamaica was not as hot as Nebraska. We had a great time with beach, restaurants, snorkeling, sun, swimming and a ton of sleep!

Back in Nebraska I finally got to eat salad and breadsticks from “Olive garden” (something that I wanted to do since 2005).

I love my family and I like the idea that people are added to it! Welcome JOHN.

Beeren pflücken im Wald

Erinnert ihr euch noch an die Gummibären-Bande? Wie sie immer Körbe voll kleiner runder roter und blauer Beeren gesammelt haben ? Ich bin zu der Erkenntnis gekommen, das die Gummibären-Serie in Finnland gedreht wurde, denn niergendwo sonst habe ich ja so viele Blaubeeren gesehen.
Letzte Woche war ich mit Aila zusammen Blaubeeren sammeln. Me poimeamme mustika! Also los ging es, mit alten Kleidern, einer Muetze, und natürlich langärmlig, sonst essen einen die Stechmücken auf! Eimern und Pflück-Geräten . Wir haben uns mit einer von Ailas Freundinen ,Helene, getroffen, die eine gute Stelle im Wald kennt, ganz ind er Nähe von ihrem Mökki. Wir haben 2 Stunden non stop gepfückt und hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit. Es ist so friedlich im Wald, und man kann plücken und reden, und man arbeitet einfach so nebeneinander her. So entspannend....bis die Schmerzen im Rücken einsetzten, denn Blaubeeren wachsen am Boden. Nach der Pflück-aktion gab es lecker Essen in Helenas Mökki und ihr Mann hat uns dann noch mitgenomen auf eine kleine Rundfahrt mit dem Boot auf dem See. Dann gab es Kaffee und natürlich Nachtisch mit Blaubeeren.Aber mit dem Pflücken fängt die Arbeit ja erst an, denn die Blaubeeren müssen noch von allen kleinen Ästen und Blättern befreit werden, die man da mitgpfückt, und das macht die gute finnische Hausfrau von Heute mit dem Staubsauger!
Es war ein herrlicher Tag mit viel Spass und wunderbarem Wetter, und guter Gesellschaft. Und die blauen Ränder unter den Nägeln, die werden wohl noch einpaar Tage bleiben.

Eigentlich mag ich es nicht einen Blog zu schrieben, ohne ihrgendwelche coolen Bilder als Unterstützung für das geschriebene Wort zu haben. Aber da wir nicht in dem Besitz einer Kamera sind, muss ich es eben so versuchen, denn ihr müsst ja schliesslich wissen, wie es mir geht, und schreiben war schon immer ein gutes OUTLET für mich!
Also, was mich im Moment 7 Stunden am Tag beschäftigt hält, ist meine Arbeit an der Universität in Jyväskylä(in nur 7 min mit dem Rad erreichbar). Ich arbeite dort in einem Labor für Evolutionsgenetik( nein, das steht nicht im Wiederspruch mit meinem Glauben). Ich mache DNA-Extraktionen von kleinen “Drosophila.Littoralis” Fliegen und analysiere dann die DNA. Ich liebes es wieder im Labor zu arbeiten und würde es gegen nichts eintauschen wollen ( vielleicht mit Sprachunterricht, aber das auch nur vielleicht, oder vielleicht ja, unbedingt!)
Heute war Anttis Omas Namenstag( die Finnen feiern das, wie einen Geburtstag) und so hatte ich mal wieder die Gelegenheit still in der Natur rumzusitzen, und zu lesen. Hab mich auf dem Flohmarkt mit englischer” Klatsch und Tratsch= Mode “ Litteratur eingedeckt, und kann edlich mal wieder in Zeitschriften schmökern.
Aber es ist doch immer wieder schön, Zeit mit der angeheirateten Familie zu verbringen, doch schmerzleich, wenn man so selten die selbe Sprache spricht. Und kann ein kleines 4 jähriges Mädchen verstehen, dass man nicht mit ihr Kekse essen gehen kann, nicht weil man nicht will, oder sie nicht mag, sonder einfach weil man anstatt “willst du mit mir Kekse essen gehen? “ falsch versteht” ich esse Kekse!”
Aber das sind nur Kleinigkeiten, ansonsten ist der Sommer hier wunderschön und auf meinem Balkon wachsen und gedeihen meine Pfefferminz- und Zitronenmilisse -Pflanzen.

OUR home

By the way, I love it! It’s our tiny apartment and I really enjoy living there.
.. .on the pictures you can see John standing in our open kitchen, me sitting on the huge sofa!...and our bathroom! and the supperduppa ober/mega/cool/ihana -THING is that we have a sauna... and 3 people can sit in it(YES, Judit, Johanna and I tested it :) ). And I enjoythe sauna so much. Yesterday I was just alone in the sauna worshiping God for his goodness for giving us the sauna :)

what a day….our wedding day!
I know that probably every girl has already figured out 90% of her wedding day… or almost.
It’s not new when I tell you that that is a big day in a woman’s live.
Well I had figured out maybe 0,1% of my wedding. I knew that I wanted to have a princess dress and I knew that I want a kiss, and I knew that I would sing something.
That’s not a lot, but this way I had 99,9% to be surprised and spontaneous. Surprised?!!YES, Well I never thought or dreamed or imagined to marry in Finland.
Ok, now to the big day. So many people where a head of time, planning, doing and investing tons of time and love. KIITOS for doing so… I know I can never pay that back.
Beautiful weather. 8:00 Hairdresser . 9:30 getting the flower bouquet. Antti picks us ( Miri and me ) up from town, and we drive to the MOKKI ( It’s the Mokki where my family stayed during their trip to Finland). Getting Make up. Getting in the dress. And then we were taking pictures in the most beautiful landscape of Finland. Lake and trees :). Getting out of the dress. Driving to church. 12:00 in the church. Getting in the dress, refresh make up. And then I and Antti had to wait alone in a room, away from the arriving friends and family and just so nervous and so excited.

The church part was beautiful and I loved the songs and I finally got my wedding ring, the one I picked in December. I was so amazed to see all my friends (the one from Finland and the one from Germany) and I loved seeing them together in the same room. Food was unbelievably good. (Even the next day and two days later when we were eating the leftovers with my mom and dad :) ).
The program was fun and the speeches touchy. I was surprised about my dad and kind of proud to have such a fun dad. (It’s really seldom that I think like that about my dad but that day I was proud to be his daughter).
The cake was so good and for the people who don’t like café we had coke. AND I got such a good feedback for that, so I just wanted to mention that that was Anttis idea. Yes I have such a cleaver husband :)
And then I had to sing. And Antti was giving a tint thank you speech. We ran to our car, hiding from the RICOLA -candy that people were throwing at us. I loved the bubbles (always will…)
…. well and then…. there was this totally relaxed and happy moment. When we were sitting on OUR couch in OUR new home and MY husband was taking the bobipins out of my hair, I just felt so loved and so rich to have experienced such a wonderful day with so many people that I truly and deeply love. I felt so rich just knowing that all those people came to my wedding and so many more send cards with greetings. And I felt so blessed to know that this is just the beginning and that the one who started all that, the one who brought such a amazing and loving husband and such a great country into live in into my life will lead and guide not only me but also my friendships, and my mariage.Kiitos Jesus. Thank you Jesus. Danke Jesus
